About Luminessence
When we began building Luminessence, we didn’t set out to create a brand. We set out to create space.
Space for conversation.
Space for reflection.
Space for questioning the roles we’ve inherited and the stories we’ve been given.
And as we built, we used every tool available to us.
We gathered around tables.
We recorded voice notes across countries.
We filled notebooks with messy thoughts.
We challenged each other’s perspectives.
We sat with discomfort when something didn’t feel true.
Every piece of Luminessence begins in conversation — three women reflecting, questioning, disagreeing, reshaping. We test ideas against our lived experience. We ask, “Does this feel honest?” We rework anything that doesn’t.
Technology can support a process. It cannot replace lived experience.
Luminessence is not automated wisdom. It is curated, challenged, and consciously created.
Our toolbox
Our toolbox includes notebooks, long walks, cultural stories, hard questions, Canva designs, shared silence and yes, modern technology too including AI.
Not as a replacement for our thinking. Not as a shortcut for depth. But as one tool in our toolbox.
Sometimes it helped us organise ideas. Sometimes it offered a perspective we hadn’t considered. Sometimes it forced us to refine what we actually meant.
But the direction? The tone? The truth?
That comes from us.
The heart of this work is human. And it always will be.
The founders
Three women.
A kaleidoscope of identities, perspectives, experiences, and pathways.
Kaleidoscope
Derived from three words:
- Kalos — beautiful
- Eidos — form or shape
- Skopos — to look at, to watch
This one word represents how Luminessence took shape from broken parts, missing dreams, changing realities and shifting shadows that Jhoola, Anniki and Supriya started with.
Luminessence started and grew from conversations about identity, relationships, conditioning, healing and purpose. From exploration of the stories we tell ourselves, the truths we may or may not speak about and the stories we want to craft for ourselves.
We brought out the pieces, the different shapes we collected on the different journeys we took to here and mixed them all together. Every shake of the kaleidoscope showed us a different pattern, a different design that emerged from the strengths, perspectives, experiences and shadows we brought to the mix. All beautiful in their own way.
The structure and spirit of Luminessence reflects this while staying true to our intention of creating a space for reflection, growth and self-discovery that is unique, resonant and in alignment for everyone who becomes a part of Luminessence.
